Very Early Spring

The snow is getting knocked down by the warm, wet weather of the last couple of days.

Fog today made the bush really beautiful.

The ground will begin to peek through soon.

Oak Leaf

The snow banks by the road slowly reveal items of nature that have been hidden for the past few months.

Oak Leaf In Snow

This oak leaf sinks daily into its little bed of snow until it will eventually reach the ground.

The Water is Running

It’s just a little bit of melting but this sight strengthens the belief that spring will come when the little rivulets of water cut into the ice and create their own stream beds.

Spring Puddle

In spring, water forms puddles.  We’ve not seen this very often in the past four months and so it is new and different to those like me with very short memories.

Spring Puddle Reflection

This one was in my driveway.  The bush across the road is reflected in it.

Moffat’s Path Spring Morning

About a week ago it rained all night and got warm in the morning.  Very humid but cold near the ground.

The fog made it interesting.

This was made using three exposures (-1,0,+1) and then combining them using the HDR function in CS5 Photoshop.

The Ice is Retreating

The sun’s subtle strength is working on the ice along our shore…

Facing South doesn’t hurt either.
