When the snow is as deep on the ground as it is now, it’s nice to have this promise from the past.
Spring will come.
Nipissing shore two days before the official arrival of Spring.
Every year at this time, the rich promise of a new beginning is present in the bush.
Even though the ice is still on Lake Nipissing, it’s easy to imagine paddling your feet in the sand in the warm waters of summer.
I can imagine the little kids splashing in the water.
When summer comes, this is very, very good!
When the sun is in the right place…
All is well with the world!
The sun’s subtle strength is working on the ice along our shore…
Facing South doesn’t hurt either.
As spring approaches, the snow on the ground out front of my place takes on a new appearance. Not quite fresh and a little tired.
The shadows have a bit more light in them because the sun is higher. Another month and the ice will be off the lake.
