Playing in the Cold

Last Saturday was bitterly cold and snowing.

But that made it a perfect day for this kiteboarder:

His only complaint was that the wind was too light!

A Walk in the Bush

We are surrounded by bush.  Thick bush.  Difficult to get through sometimes.

Near our place is a path that provides a wonderful entry to the magic that is the quiet of a winter morning.  I haven’t been back there in recent weeks and this morning provided an opportunity to visit this wonderland.

Winter Water

This little stream crosses North Shore Drive near where I live.

It’s easy to miss when you keep your eyes on the road when driving by.

A good argument for walking.  Or driving slowly…

Wet Start

We’re off to a wet start for 2011!

Warm temperatures and rain for the past 24 hours have knocked the heck out of the snow and flooded the ice on the lake.  It may be good skating when it freezes later tonight.

Looking to the south across our lake shows the extent of the despair.

Or the possibilities for tomorrow…

Mother Nature does what she pleases!
