Look Down

Walking through the fall forest our attention is grabbed by the rich displays of colour above us.

It can be rewarding to glance down occasionally:

Leaf Waterfall

We walked the Canadore Trails this Thanksgiving afternoon.  Although it has been on our minds, we haven’t done this in several years.

When I saw this rock surface covered in fallen leaves, I thought of a flowing (leaf) waterfall:

Blue Heron

I visited Eau Claire Gorge yesterday and paused on the bridge which crosses the Amable du Fond River.

The heron was not disturbed by my presence or by the occasional car crossing.

Late

These leaves would be expected to be on the ground by now.

They provide some muted colour in the monochrome bush at this time of year.

When spring comes they will fall to be replaced by new greenery.

Gray Day

A lot of photographers put their cameras away on a gray day like today.

Colours have a way of standing out when it’s gloomy.

HERE are some more photos made this morning.

The leaves have nearly all fallen and the colour is leaving the bush.

Now we wait for snow.
