Three Paths in Laurier Woods

In the Woods the trails wander

Among the trees and ponds, and so,

When trekking and the day is fair

The hard part is to know just where

To pause and sense the mood

That best expresses how one feels.

Around the bend one might fetch up

A memory,

A feeling.

Sad, happy, excited, nostalgic,

Put there in the mind

By past experience enjoyed,

Or missed, only to surface and make itself known.

Finally.

First Snow

The first snow arrived the other day.

Autumn wasn’t finished yet.

So, it shone through, and the snow went away.

But it will be back.

Autumn Dress

One Mile Bay on Trout Lake is very near where I live.

I pass the end of it each time I want to go to town, and it always looks a little different each time.

Here it is in October.

One sign of the beginnings of Season Change is found beside the roads.

Fields of yellow appear.

Colour While Waiting For Winter

These days Mother Nature is trying to decide whether it’s time to get out of Autumn mode and into Winter.

She is having trouble making up her mind, it seems.

So in the interim, some more Fall colour while She ruminates.

Colour Still Abounds

It’s December now and the colours of Autumn are long gone.

The memory is still here.

Late Autumn

As the season winds down, warmth and calm arrive for short periods.

Next come the storms.
