Spring appeared early last week with mild temperatures for a couple of days. The water ran and snow melted.
Low parts of Lee Park became ponds.
We’re back into winter for the next week or so. No water running. Everything is frozen again.

Two Remembrance Day poppies have been placed in the stump of a fallen tree at the corner of West Peninsula and Peninsula Road. They have been there since November. I photographed them today and treated the photo in different ways.
The first expresses a soft wistful feeling, the second has a more gritty, rough feel.
I suppose each interpretation is appropriate depending on one’s experience.
The poppies remind me how lucky we are.

It snowed last night – the type of snow that sticks to every branch and gives the bush a Wonderland look.
There is so much to photograph that most of the images have to be taken by the mind and remembered.

I made this photograph about a year ago around Christmas.
I thought it was stronger as a monochrome treatment with a bit of cyan toning to make it look a bit cooler.
The white streaks are snowflakes in the air.
