As the new year begins the big question is, “What waits beyond the top of the hill?”

Near our place is a path through the forest.

Just up the road from the Portage Hotel on Peninsula Road is this large tree which hides on the side of the road most of the time. However, when snow comes it is revealed as the wonderfully shaped living thing that it is.
Its companions attend it all year long as well.
