Gentle Ripples

Lake Nipissing can be quite calm. When it is, the waves look like this.

Gull Gathering

The last couple of days have been totally without wind. The odd breeze perhaps but no wind.

Phenomenal!

The gulls have gathered on Lake Nipissing to laze around and gather energy before they retreat South for the winter.

Waiting to go South

Tomorrow the spell is to be broken with rainy windy weather accompanied by Warnings.

I will keep yesterday and today in mind as we face what will be.

Lone Tamarack

The tamaracks are losing their needles for another year.

Lone Tamarack

The gentle yellow-orange is a comfortable colour after the showy colours of the maples, birches and poplars.

Rhythm in Sumac

Sumac grows with most rhythmic branches.

Different exotic, elegant curves form when the plant develops.

Sumac Branch

This dead bush, missing its bark in places, provides texture as well as curve.
