Simpler, smaller, more elegant than the mansions being built these days.
There is a nice architectural mix of symmetry and asymmetry which I find interesting.

This house has always been a favourite.
There is a gentle and pleasing symmetry to its design.
In my mind it has a very English feel to it.
I am reminded of “The Wind in the Willows” whenever I see it.
