With the rebirth that is Spring come colours seen only once a year.
The iridescent yellow-green of newly hatched leaves is one colour which rapidly fades as the leaves become adolescents.

Lake Nipissing is quite low these days. More of the lake shore is uncovered at this time of year and new details are revealed.
The rock of the Pre-Cambrian Shield gives an ageless feeling to this photograph.

The water is low in Lake Nipissing at this time of year and so it’s possible to walk in places that are unavailable later in the summer.
Water would normally lap at the roots of these trees and the stony beach would be obscured.
When the warmth returns, the stark bones of the trees will be hidden with green.

On the west side of town is Duchesnay Falls. The creek that feeds the falls usually doesn’t carry much water but with the early spring weather, lots of water is flowing.
We visited yesterday.

Visited the boat launch area in Callander yesterday. The exceptional warm weather of the past two weeks has sounded the warning to get the ice huts off the bay. This past weekend saw lots of activity around the boat launch and parking lot.
When the ice goes bad, the small Tardises (Tardae?) must be put somewhere.
