Near the top of the mountain the frost-coated trees look delicately spectacular.
It takes a lot of time in cloud to produce these beauties.

It is a continual search for lunch when you are a bird.
The goldfinches have arrived to compete with the chickadees, the nuthatches and the purple finches.

Tenacity
Oak trees wait forever to drop their leaves. These should have fluttered to the ground about 5 months ago but they are still hanging on.
There has to be a prize for such tenacity.

Last year Trout Lake was ice-free on May 1.
About a month of winter to go if we’re lucky!
