Haying Time

Chisolm township is just south of Lake Nosbonsing.  A little niche of very good farmland in the middle of the rocks and trees that characterize Northern Ontario.  The North Border of Algonquin Park is on the South edge of the Township.

Cormorants

Cormorants arrived on Lake Nosbonsing in the past 10 years or so and prefer to roost on the end of a small island out in the main part of the lake.

Cormorants are not popular birds in Ontario.

Cormorant Roost III

The inevitable result of their fish diet kills vegetation and trees where numbers of them congregate.

Something like humans.

The Chief is back and working hard.

Chief Commanda

Chief Commanda 2

The Chief is a catamaran which is a unique design for cruise boat on a “small” lake.

Commanda Returns

The people who took the cruise last Sunday really enjoyed it.  So they said when interviewed.

Cranberry

We visited Cranberry Trail in Callander for the first time in a year or so.  It is as wonderful now as it was the last time we were there.

Cranberry Trail

What a unique place!

We are lucky to have people who thought ahead and worked to provide the opportunity to experience close-up the wonderful North that we live in.

Spring on The Chippewa

A grand title for the lovely little creek that flows through the centre of North Bay.

Chippewa Creek Spring

A pleasant walk yesterday morning down the valley of Chippewa Creek.  Unseasonal summer weather has made the leaves burst forth in their delicate spring greens.
