A black and white version of yesterday’s post.
The canoe routes to the West of Canada entered Lake Nipissing a little to the South of this location and disappeared into the mouth of the French River on the horizon to the left. Canoes passed this way Spring and Fall for over 100 years.

One year ago today, this was the view from Sunset Park looking west across Lake Nipissing.
Today it looks pretty much the same.
A month from now it should be different.

It’s just a little bit of melting but this sight strengthens the belief that spring will come when the little rivulets of water cut into the ice and create their own stream beds.
