Sunday at Laurentian Ski Hill

North Bay is blessed with an alpine ski hill situated inside town. The hill has been operating for over 50 years and has provided recreational opportunities for North Bay people, and at least two World Champions have grown up here and learned their craft.

Today was a busy day at the hill.

People having Great Fun on a gorgeous winter day.

Stairs

The stairs lead to the top of the hill in Las Penas neighbourhood in Guayaquil.

Thumbs Up

There are 444 steps. Each one is numbered.

We didn’t take the challenge to climb to the summit.

Old Mountain Town

Books have been published. Articles written. This place is worth the trip.

Machu Picchu Site

This photograph has been made a million times by others.

To resist making one for myself was futile!

Witty Artisans

I spent yesterday at the Witty Artisans Craft Show at The Portage.

Witty Artisans

I had a great time chatting with old friends and new friends who passed by and looked at my work and the work of others at the show.

For such a gray rainy day, the turnout was phenomenal.  Thanks to all who came by.

Discovery North Bay

The CPR station near the waterfront, long unused, has in recent years been refurbished and is now the home of @Discovery North Bay.

Removal of the rail yards allows one to see the waters of Lake Nipissing from its parking lot – if you stand on tip toe.

It is a lovely classic building.  Three cheers for those who worked to save it and make it a living classroom.  It is this kind of thing that turns a town into a community.
