Cape Breton Island is a spectacular and subtle place, depending on where you are and where you look.
The beach at Inverness is both.
We experienced it on a sunny, windy day. Not a day for swimming but definitely for walking and seeing.

Yesterday when John, Jerry and I went on a little photo tour of the area John led us to this old truck for our first stop.
This is one of the smaller Mack Trucks that I have seen and indeed it has seen better days.
We were guessing late ’40s, early ’50s for vintage.
Nowadays Mack Trucks are big and shiny and powerful.

Peggy’s Cove is a mecca for visitors who bring cameras.
Often they arrive in groups with particular intent, concentration and focus.
There was water with boats in it to the right of the frame that caught their interest.

Yesterday I had some free time and so I visited Duchesnay Falls.

Canada was opened up by railroads and people used them to get from place to place.
Times change. People move differently now.
As happens with many things, the legacy has been neglected and is being discarded.
The gathering point for dreams was the railroad station. This one in Mattawa ON is fading into history.
