Portraits Of A Blue Jay

I’m fortunate to have windows at “tree top height” which allow me to be comfortably warm shooting from inside the house. It is winter, after all.

Add feeders which the birds find attractive, plus a good long lens and it is a perfect set-up.

Early March Trout Lake

It’s difficult to conjure thoughts of Spring when this is what one encounters.

Kelly’s Beach is backed by a lagoon and extensive wetlands.

The colours of Autumn are intense in the vegetation.

Gannet Rookery

Bonaventure Island at Perce, Quebec is home to seabirds and seals.

There are thousands of Gannets and they make their nests on ledges of the cliffs on the seaward side of the island.

Winter Farm

One of my favourite places to photograph is a trio of buildings beside Hwy 63 on the way to Temiskaming.

Nestled in the back of a large field and protected from the North winds by thick bush, they just look cozy and warm, even on the coldest, snowiest days.
