Lake Nipissing is a gull-magnet, as indeed are most lakes in this part of the world.

Cadillac Bridge
The recently installed pedestrian overpass across the bypass is a gorgeous piece of public infrastructure. It looks great from any angle.
It is truly neat that the approaches are bicycle friendly.
This is part of giving the city back to the ordinary person.

Nipissing Shore
The water is low in Lake Nipissing at this time of year and so it’s possible to walk in places that are unavailable later in the summer.
Water would normally lap at the roots of these trees and the stony beach would be obscured.
When the warmth returns, the stark bones of the trees will be hidden with green.

Grafitti
Visited a place by the railroad tracks today where the big minds with the spray cans spend some of their time.

I submit photos to a stock web site. They will not accept graffiti unless the shot is accompanied by a release signed by the “artist”. Seems that the “artist” has copyright and could sue if the shot is used commercially. Funny world!

Lookin’ Good?
Sometimes the rear yards of old buildings tell their own stories. This structure is on Oak Street and those photographers whose memories go back some years remember seeing it when they visited a favourite store via the back way.
The designer of the necessary fire escape paid scant attention to the look of the building. The modifications to the original windows do not add to the architecture. It once looked good.

Lots of Water
On the west side of town is Duchesnay Falls. The creek that feeds the falls usually doesn’t carry much water but with the early spring weather, lots of water is flowing.
We visited yesterday.

The Plural of Tardis?
Visited the boat launch area in Callander yesterday. The exceptional warm weather of the past two weeks has sounded the warning to get the ice huts off the bay. This past weekend saw lots of activity around the boat launch and parking lot.
When the ice goes bad, the small Tardises (Tardae?) must be put somewhere.
