More Winter!

Even though the prevailing thoughts in our part of the country are “Enough, Winter! Go away!”, we had one more swipe of it last night. This morning was a wondrous sight to behold!

Perhaps winter can stay just a bit longer with bribes like this.

Construction

The new residence at Canadore College will not be this colourful when it is finished but these days it sure can be seen from a long way off.

This is a small fraction of the total number of ice fishing huts on the ice. How many can you count?

Winter Trail

It won’t be long now until the warm weather hits and the delicate memories of winter will fade.

Winter Trail

Right now it is fashionable to complain about how long and cold and miserable the winter has been, and how much it would be appreciated if the cold would just let up.

I will miss the crisp delicacy of the day I made this photograph.

Morning Birch

Cold this morning on the ice. Looked back at the shore and noticed the birches lit by reflected light from the ice.

Colour version here.

I like the monochrome better.

Winter Afternoon

A quiet winter afternoon on Trout Lake. There are ice fishermen in the hut but I suspect they are asleep.

It’s that kind of day.

Hiding

We have been babysitting Bella for the past week. It has taken her about that long to become comfortable in our house.

Hiding

It looks like she is finally there.
