Fog on One Mile Bay Sunday morning.
Another lousy day in paradise!

The fall colours are showing more and more as the days go by. Yesterday morning on One Mile Bay they were evident.
It’s only going to get better!

It’s not officially fall yet but yesterday was the first really cool day for what seems like months.
A little reminder of things to come.

The ice is going out of our lake after a long winter. Last night the effects of warmer temperatures and sunshine along with some rain became evident as the frozen solid skin on the lake broke down.
A light wind moved pans of ice by our place and the tinkling buzz of the pans rubbing gently against each other was gentle music.
The last gasp of winter produces beautiful long crystals of ice that are unique.
Beautiful stuff goes on all the time in the real world. If you blink you miss it…

Snow in the wrong places can be a major problem. (Think of Heathrow Airport.)
However, in the right places it can give exciting beauty.
Winter has many faces.

Once again the morning is dull and gray.
A photo from summer past may help to lighten the depression:
It’s fun remembering the sunshine and the warmth!

It’s turning into dull gray November early this year and today is about as dull and gray as it gets.
I hope this will brighten it up a bit…
A bit of stored sunshine from the summer!

Sometimes one is so dazzled at the display above our heads when walking through the bush at this time of year that what is underfoot is missed.
Looking downward, as well as upwards can reveal images that add to the experience of autumn.

This past week has been sunny and warm-ish, a significant change from the grey of September.
The geese are taking their time before leaving for the South.

A favourite swimming area on Trout Lake is The Cove.
Yesterday was our first frosty morning of the fall and along with the frost came mist.
The water is too cold for swimming these days but it’s still a neat place to go on a sunny morning.

There is a path through the bush near my place that I’ve dubbed Moffat’s Path after the owner of the land. It is a neat place to trek with a camera in all seasons of the year.
Autumn has arrived here recently:
Snow is next!
