Local Eagle

We are blessed to have an eagle nest that (remarkably) is readily accessible to human visitors for viewing. The eagle pair have lived here for the past 15 years or so and have raised numerous offspring at the rate of two and sometimes three per year.

They are quite familiar and seemingly comfortable with the activities taking place below them, as the immediate vicinity is busy during the summer with boat launching and during the winter with ice fishing.

The eagles have been named Pete and Paulie by the locals and take advantage in the winter of donations of fish that the fishermen can’t use.

Here, Pete (or perhaps Paulie) executes a landing, delivering nesting materials foraged in the area.
