A little bit more from the passing autumn.
Forecast high today of +3C. An early reminder that winter is hiding out there.

There is no more brilliant red than that of a red maple leaf.
They are a bland green all summer and then “WHAM!”, along comes fall – a chance to show off.
But like all fireworks the show is over too soon.

The leaves are turning from summer green to fall reds and yellows.

Sometimes one is so dazzled at the display above our heads when walking through the bush at this time of year that what is underfoot is missed.
Looking downward, as well as upwards can reveal images that add to the experience of autumn.

Near our house is Moffat’s Path. I have many photographs of this place and one of my favourites is this little spot, which I have photographed many times in different conditions and seasons. This is the way it looked yesterday morning.
Very tranquil and quiet. Good for the soul.

Tucked behind the North Bay Airport is a small plain United Church. It is very unprepossessing.
Almost forgotten, one might say.
But the members of the congregation meet regularly and the church is still a living thing.

There is a path through the bush near my place that I’ve dubbed Moffat’s Path after the owner of the land. It is a neat place to trek with a camera in all seasons of the year.
Autumn has arrived here recently:
Snow is next!
