Spring on The Chippewa

A grand title for the lovely little creek that flows through the centre of North Bay.

Chippewa Creek Spring

A pleasant walk yesterday morning down the valley of Chippewa Creek.  Unseasonal summer weather has made the leaves burst forth in their delicate spring greens.

The geranium plant on my windowsill was lit by the sun yesterday afternoon.

Oak Leaves

Oak leaves are often left by the tree to hang for the winter and so do not fall to the forest floor where they would be protected from the weather by the snow blanket.

They will finally drop when Spring arrives with new growth.

Waterfalls

This little series of waterfalls is on a small creek that flows down the escarpment below the old Monastery in North Bay.  Recent rains have provided just enough water to make a pleasant autumn scene.  The trees have lost most of their leaves and the forest floor is accumulating this year’s protective covering.

Soon the blanket colour will change to white.

Creek Walk

The little stream that flows from the pond at Canadore College runs through a valley beside the Canadore Trail System.

A walk along the stream yielded these photos and more.
