Frosted Ugly

Ugly stuff looks better with a coating of frost crystals.

Delicately brutal.

On Hold

The maple keys will drop in a couple of days.  The new leaves are in shock.

No growth until the weather warms up.

Summer is coming.  Believe!

Ice Follies

On the ice of Lake Nipissing is an intriguing exhibition of structures and installation art.  Several interesting pieces stand in the sun, wind, snow, cold, dark, to provide messages and analyses of our world.

A Walk In The Bush

There is a trail near our house that changes from season to season.  Winter walks here are quiet and beautiful.

Rustic Bridge

Just down the road is a small bridge.  Built a few years ago in romantic style, it crosses a little creek that runs into Trout Lake.  It’s easy to miss if you keep your eyes on the road.

Snow Bridge

The snow covering makes it look quite delicate.

Longest Shadow

Yesterday winter officially arrived at about 1:00pm.  The longest shadow of the year at “high noon” was cast by the sundial on the lakefront.
