There is a trail near our house that changes from season to season. Winter walks here are quiet and beautiful.

Just down the road is a small bridge. Built a few years ago in romantic style, it crosses a little creek that runs into Trout Lake. It’s easy to miss if you keep your eyes on the road.
The snow covering makes it look quite delicate.

Yesterday winter officially arrived at about 1:00pm. The longest shadow of the year at “high noon” was cast by the sundial on the lakefront.
