It seems that it has taken forever for the leaves to start their colour change locally.
And then all of a sudden they changed with a “whoosh”!

Sometimes good photographs are available behind where you are focusing.
Turning 180 degrees while photographing Little Mack Truck and having a look, revealed these opportunities.

Yesterday when John, Jerry and I went on a little photo tour of the area John led us to this old truck for our first stop.
This is one of the smaller Mack Trucks that I have seen and indeed it has seen better days.
We were guessing late ’40s, early ’50s for vintage.
Nowadays Mack Trucks are big and shiny and powerful.

Peggy’s Cove is a mecca for visitors who bring cameras.
Often they arrive in groups with particular intent, concentration and focus.
There was water with boats in it to the right of the frame that caught their interest.
They were not shooting the bush.

Yesterday I had some free time and so I visited Duchesnay Falls.
The water is lower than the last time I was there and different photographic opportunities were presented.
It is very difficult to ignore the water rushing over the rocks, but there are many other quiet encounters.

Autumn brings absolutely still mornings to our lake.
Yesterday was one of those days.
My kayak provides a special way to experience these moments of quiet.
They don’t come very often.

The town of Trout Creek was served for years by its hotel.
In recent years it has struggled to survive.
Unlike the town it has been less successful.
Another memory of the past is coming to its inevitable end.

I stopped in Trout Creek, Ontario the other day.
It was the kind of day when Mother Nature had trouble making up her mind.
One minute black skies, the next minute blue.
One minute raining, the next sunny.
A perfect day for making photographs.

Here are photographs of some exciting chemistry.
The Town of Callander held a fun day in late August and the grand finale involved lots of colour and noise.

Canada was opened up by railroads and people used them to get from place to place.
Times change. People move differently now.
As happens with many things, the legacy has been neglected and is being discarded.
The gathering point for dreams was the railroad station. This one in Mattawa ON is fading into history.
