It took its time but Full-On Autumn has arrived.






The birds know Winter is coming.
Sandhill Cranes make the trip to the warmer South in stages, pausing along the way to rest and glean the fields for food.
The opportunity to watch them and make photographs presents itself annually.
We are fortunate to be on the flyway and the presence of large farms in our area provides the resting spots.

Laurier Woods is an area of bush and beaver ponds in our town. It is easily accessible and provides a “wilderness” experience on the edge of our metropolis. It is family friendly, small enough that getting lost is not an issue. With well maintained trails, even those in wheelchairs can experience at least some of the fun it has to offer.

There is a small cemetery in Feronia which provides a quiet, tranquil resting place for many who pioneered the area.
It is situated on a small knoll surrounded by bush. Much like what the first people to move into the area found when they arrived.

Duchesnay Creek drops over the escarpment north of our town on its way to Lake Nipissing.
Over many years and many visits, it has provided multiple opportunities to preserve in photographs and memory the uniqueness that is our part of the world.
