Oak leaves are often left by the tree to hang for the winter and so do not fall to the forest floor where they would be protected from the weather by the snow blanket.
They will finally drop when Spring arrives with new growth.

I love Oak Trees, some are Native to Britain, and their leaves are instantly recognisable.. Our Spring seems to be caught in the sold grip of Winter Snow… everywhere. xPenx
