I watched this little wood duck squire his mallard lady love for some time. She seemed flattered by his attentions.
It was clear that she preferred his company even though mallard gentlemen were readily available.
Perhaps it was something in the water? Or her vision was faulty.
“Green head – check; gray sides – check; brown chest – check; handsome too. Yep he’ll do!”?

The building that was the genesis of the “Rusty” Series:
It now sits somewhat forelornly on the side of the Erie Canal. Perhaps demolition is its only future.
Sad to think that at one time it was a major contributor to the life and economy of Pittsford.
