North Bay Harbour

The development of the North Bay Waterfront required the construction of a sheltered harbour for small craft.  Rock that had been excavated when the NORAD underground site was built was moved from near Trout lake to the waterfront and dumped into Lake Nipissing to form the breakwall in the photograph.

The small boat marina has spaces for 250 craft.

Spring Calm

Lake Nipissing is quite low these days.  More of the lake shore is uncovered at this time of year and new details are revealed.

The rock of the Pre-Cambrian Shield gives an ageless feeling to this photograph.
