Last night’s first official snowfall brought out the need to think of things that grow in warm places.
Places like my living room.

No matter what one’s mood, the colour, delicacy and cheer provided by a flower seems to brighten it up.
We keep them around the house for that reason, I suppose.
In the dark cold days of January they are a particular bright spot and a reminder of warmer days to come.
Or maybe we just like them.
