When frost forms at this time of year, amazing beauty abounds:

Incredibly delicate ice crystals disappear very shortly after the sun warms them up.

Two years ago we celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving at our daughter’s place in New York State.  This photograph was made at Letchworth State Park, not far from the Pennsylvania border.

We forget how calm and quiet winter can be.

One Mile Bay is close to our place.  Sometimes in the morning it is very calm.

It was smooth yesterday morning.

This morning is the anomalous warm November day that sometimes arrives and is the last glorious sunny summery day before the cold gets here.  Four Mile Bay is not far from the house:

An abandoned sandpit on the escarpment is an interesting place.  It is almost desert-like in parts.

The local four-wheelers have a great time here.

Wild roses grow by a neighbour’s driveway.

The colours that have developed as autumn has advanced stand out on a gray day like yesterday.  Almost prettier than the roses of summer.

I visited Sweetman’s Garden yesterday.  It is waiting for winter after an active and stunning summer.

The old wheelbarrow is in its autumn years as well:

Wassi Lake is a small body of water to the south of my town.

Surrounded by farms, it was the first lake in the area to report Blue-Green Algae blooms this summer.  Quite toxic.  No swimming or using the water from the lake.
